Basic Dignity Coalition

The Basic Dignity Coalition (BDC) is a community-driven network led by Think Dignity that brings together advocates, service providers, and lived-experience experts to push for policy solutions grounded in dignity, equity, and human rights.
Relaunched in 2025, the BDC serves as a shared table for collaboration, learning, and action around issues affecting San Diego’s unhoused neighbors — from equitable device charging and public hygiene access to housing justice and compassionate encampment policy.
Through quarterly convenings, the Coalition identifies emerging needs, develops policy priorities, and supports advocacy campaigns that uplift the voices of those most impacted by homelessness.
