Transitional storage center provided by Think Dignity

Transitional Storage Center (TSC)

Our Transitional Storage Center (TSC) offers 400 lockers and bins for homeless individuals to safely store their personal belongings for an unlimited period of time, allowing them to use public transportation, work, attend appointments or classes, and participate in activities to support their transition out of homelessness.

The TSC was created in 2011 as a result of a settlement won against the City of San Diego, which involved homeless individuals whose belongings were wrongfully taken and destroyed by the City. We took over operations and management in 2012 and have since helped over 500 people gain employment and obtain housing with the support of the San Diego Housing Commission.

Street Boutique

Because everyone deserves to be clean, comfortable, and confident.

Launched in 2017 as the second program of our Mobile Operations of Dignity (MOD) Squad, our Street Boutique provides menstrual and incontinence products and brand new undergarments to people experiencing homelessness in San Diego County. The Street Boutique aims to address period poverty and prevent long-term health issues caused by lack of access to hygienic products and garments.

Threads of Dignity

Our Street Boutique program is made possible by the generosity of our supporters being completely funded through individual donations. Support the Street Boutique today through our Threads of Dignity fund! Every item we distribute is more than a basic necessity—it’s a step toward restored dignity, health, and confidence.

Stich into the mission by making a donation today because everyone deserves to be clean, comfortable, and confident!

Fresh Start Showers

Launched in 2016 as the premier program of our Mobile Operations of Dignity (MOD) Squad, our Fresh Start Showers is a two-shower mobile trailer that provides access to safe shower facilities and basic hygiene resources for people experiencing homelessness in San Diego County.

The Fresh Start Showers program is now administered through our partners at Third Avenue Charitable Organization (TACO).

Mobile showers are available at 1420 Third Avenue San Diego, CA 92101 every second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 9AM to 12PM.

Survival Supply Distribution

Originally launched as the Backpack Distribution, our Survival Supply Distribution is a twice-annual event that unites community members to collect and distribute thousands of essential supplies, such as hygiene items, sleeping bags, flashlights, and pet supplies, to people experiencing homelessness during the summer and winter months.

Equitable device Charging

For many of us, a charged phone is simply part of daily life. For those experiencing homelessness, living with a disability, or relying on essential medical devices, it’s far more: it’s a lifeline. At Think Dignity, we’re working to ensure that access to public charging isn’t a privilege—it’s a right.

When you have a reliable place to charge your device, you’re better able to connect with case-workers, job or housing applications, emergency services—or simply keep vital devices powered.

Check out our Programs & Outreach Calendar to see upcoming pop-up events, many of which offer Equitable Charging.
